FAQ

An ideal mountain day in Almaty without long drives or expedition-level preparation. The program includes Big Almaty Lake at 2511 meters, a turquoise basin 15 km from the city, and Alma-Arasan Gorge with thermal springs and crisp conifer air. Transport, a professional guide, and all necessary fees are included, so all that remains is to choose a date. Small groups and a private format are available on request. The route is adapted to the group’s pace. The program works equally well for a first visit or a return trip. The best time is from May to October, when the roads are open and the landscapes are at their finest.

Itinerary

Big Almaty Lake · Alatau gorges

A walk through Alma-Arasan Gorge with a mineral thermal spring, a mountain stream, and trails along cascades beneath a canopy of conifers. In the first half of the day, a stop at the Ayusai eco-park in the Little Almaty Gorge, with wooden boardwalks, alpine flowers, and a waterfall on the trail to Big Almaty Lake. Toward midday, a drive to Big Almaty Lake (2511 m), a turquoise reservoir just 15 km from the city center. The water changes from aquamarine to deep turquoise depending on the clouds; photo spots are along both shores and at the high viewpoint.
